These are my absolute best seller, just as well I enjoy making them! Buckled rolled leather dog collars are hand rolled and moulded to a smooth rounded shape using traditional saddler’s methods. They have hidden stitching along the length of the rolled section, so they are neat, comfortable and the thread is protected from wear.
Rolled leather dog collars are great for long coated dogs as they tend to lie hidden in the coat rather than forming a ridge like a flat collar would. They can be used on any type of dog, especially if you prefer something less obtrusive or just need a collar to attach your dog’s ID tag. However, rolled leather collars, whilst comfortable for dogs to wear, are not ideal for strong pulling dogs! A wider flat design of collar is more effective for control on stronger dogs.
Rolled leather dog collars are available in a range of colours, widths and lengths and fitted with a matching leather keeper and a choice of solid brass or nickel-plated (silver) brass buckle and matching strong dee ring to attach your lead and ID tag. The fastening width is the internal width of the buckle and of the flat end of the collar with the holes. The rolled section of the collar will be approx half of that width in diameter so for example, a rolled collar with a 1/2″ (12mm) fastening, has a flat end and internal buckle width of 1/2″ (12mm) and the rolled section of the collar will be about 1/4″ (6mm) in diameter.
All lengths stated refer to the overall length of the leather excluding the buckle. See Dog collar size guide above to help you choose the correct length for your dog’s neck size! Metric Size Guide
Please note that any of the 10mm and 12mm width leads are a better fit for the attachment dee ring on the 12mm and 16mm width collars, as they have a slimmer lighter weight trigger clip.
Please take care of your collar from new with a good Leathercare product – it will supple up the leather and keep it in great condition for years of use.
